Drainage Operative

You will be working closely with other Operatives to clean, camera and carry out sewer investigations as directed by United Utilities. This role can be physically demanding as you will be required to cover a lot of ground on foot as well as working in restrictive spaces. Use of a tablet is also a requirement of the role; therefore, you will need to have knowledge of using them.

Location: Depot location is Bamber Bridge, however the role is field based working across the North West

Salary: £31,200-£33,800 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications)

Hours of work: 50 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 06.00am-16.00pm

Responsibilities – but not limited to:

• Attending customers, informing them of works due to be carried out and answering any concerns. 


• Using CCTV Equipment to map drains and check flow output


• Investigating waste water flow both visually and via CCTV. 


• Reporting all findings/data to the appropriate teams.


• All aspects of high pressure water jetting


• Where required assist on other workstreams. 

Experience and qualifications require for the role:

• Full UK driving licence


• Previous drainage experience would be an advantage but not essential


• Excellent customer service skills 


• Confident using IT systems. 

Training:

Due to the nature of the workstream, full training will be provided in the following:

• High pressure water jetting 


• Confined spaces 


• SLG 


• Banksman and spill response


• First Aid at work


• Manual handling 


• Calm water
