Rate: £185 - £240 per day

Are you a passionate Drama Teacher ready to inspire and energise the next generation of performers? We’re working with a thriving secondary school in Thurrock to find a dedicated teacher who can bring creativity, structure, and enthusiasm to the drama department. 

 

This full-time, temporary to permanent position is available for an immediate start and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vibrant school community that values expressive arts.

 

The ideal candidate will have a flair for making learning dynamic and inclusive, building confidence in students of all abilities. You’ll lead lessons that explore performance skills, script work, and creative expression while encouraging collaboration and self-reflection. Experience is desirable but not essential—what really matters is a positive attitude, a flexible approach, and a genuine love for the subject.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging drama lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Inspire students to explore performance, creativity, and teamwork.
  • Prepare students for practical assessments and school productions.
  • Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes self-expression.
  • Track student progress and provide regular feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular and enrichment activities.
  • Contribute to the broader school community and the creative life of the school.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (essential).
  • Experience teaching Drama at secondary level (desirable).
  • A creative, student-centered teaching style.
  • Excellent classroom management and behaviour strategies.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A passion for the performing arts and inclusive education.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
