Driver / Packer / Forklift Operative / Stores Assistant

Job Title:  DRIVER / PACKER / FORKLIFT OPERATIVE / STORES ASSISTANT

Department:  Purchasing

Main Purpose of Job:  To assist in Delivery and Collection of items in and around the factory as well as to and from Local Suppliers.  To support the Stores and Packing areas in day to day tasks.

Relationships:

Responsible to:  Lead Buyer

Responsible for:  Safe handling and storage of items.

Location:  Stores

Main Tasks of Job:

Local Van driving performing collection and delivery of items as required from and to suppliers.

To pick/pack products and components for production kits and customer spares orders on a daily basis, including the use of specialized packaging as required.

To assist with loading and unloading of vehicles for despatch or goods inwards, as required with the use of Counterbalance and Reach Forklift Trucks.

Undertake all mechanical and manual lifting and movement of goods in a safe manner including slinging, weight estimation and manual handling.

Allocate and store components to various areas within the factory (i.e. storage).

Ensure work area is cleaned and tidied on a routine basis.

Complete any documentation relevant to the department on a routine basis, as required.

Comply with all Health and Safety Regulations within the company. This includes Standard Operating Practices, Risk and COSHH Assessments.
