Drivers Mate

We are currently recruiting for a Driver’s Mate to join a busy recycling and waste management company based in Purfleet.

This is a hands-on role supporting drivers on daily commercial waste and recycling collections. You’ll be working as part of a two-person team, helping with collections and deliveries across client sites.

The Role

Your duties will include:

* Supporting the driver with daily waste and recycling collections

* Collecting and emptying commercial bins from customer sites

* Delivering and allocating new bins to client locations

* Handling different types of waste, including plastic, cardboard, food waste and general rubbish

* Helping the driver navigate collection routes and customer sites

* Keeping the vehicle and work area clean and tidy

* Providing a professional and helpful service to customers

* Following all company health & safety procedures

We’re looking for someone who is:

* Reliable and punctual

* Comfortable working very early morning starts

* Physically fit and happy with a hands-on role

* Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

* Not bothered by strong smells or handling waste

This is a physical job working with commercial waste, so candidates must be comfortable with the nature of the work. Waste can include food waste and other materials, and the job can be dirty and smelly at times.

The early starts are also an essential part of the role, with shifts beginning between 1am and 4am Monday to Friday.

What’s on Offer

£13.15 per hour

Monday–Friday working pattern

Occasional Saturday work when required

Temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidate
