About the Role

Prospero Teaching is currently seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Design Technology Teacher specialising in Resistance Materials to join a welcoming secondary school in Minehead, West Somerset. This is a full-time position, offering an excellent opportunity to inspire students and develop their practical and theoretical understanding of Design Technology.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging DT lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a particular focus on resistance materials. You will have the ability to create a positive learning environment, support student progress, and foster creativity and problem-solving skills within the classroom and workshop setting.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons specialising in resistance materials.
Teach engaging and practical lessons that inspire students to achieve their full potential.
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress.
Maintain a safe and effective workshop environment, ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
Contribute to the wider life of the school and work collaboratively with colleagues within the department.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential.
Experience teaching Design Technology within a secondary school setting.
Strong subject knowledge in resistance materials.
Excellent classroom management skills.
A passion for education and supporting young people to succeed.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
