Tradewind Recruitment is working with a welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in Camden seeking a DT Technician to join their Design & Technology department on a full-time, long-term basis, starting in June 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting practical lessons and ensuring a safe, engaging learning environment for students.
DT Technician - Role Overview As a DT Technician, you will support the smooth running of the Design & Technology department across KS3 and KS4. Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing materials, tools, and equipment for practical lessons Supporting teachers and students during workshop-based activities Maintaining and organising machinery, tools, and stock Ensuring all equipment is safe, clean, and in good working order Assisting with demonstrations and practical tasks where required Monitoring and managing stock levels, placing orders where necessary Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times Supporting with risk assessments and safe working practices Maintaining a tidy, safe, and efficient workshop environmentRequirements
Previous experience working in a school or workshop environment (desirable) Strong practical skills (woodwork, metalwork, or resistant materials preferred) Good understanding of health and safety procedures within a workshop setting Organised, proactive, and able to manage workload effectively Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Strong communication skills and a willingness to support students Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)What's on Offer
