We are delighted to partner with a high-achieving secondary school in Merton seeking a dynamic and experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to lead their dedicated SEN department. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in September, offering a competitive salary and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive SEN strategy, ensuring all students receive the support they need to reach their full potential.


• Lead, manage, and mentor a team of SEN professionals, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.


• Liaise effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student support.


• Oversee statutory assessments and contribute to Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) processes.


• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEN interventions, using data to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)


• National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or equivalent qualification


• Proven experience in a SENCo role, ideally within a secondary school setting


• Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation
