Job Description - Early Career Teacher

Primary Early Career Teacher (ECT) – Key Stage 2

Teach Now is proud to be recruiting an Early Career Teacher (ECT) for a high -achieving, all -through school in Barnet. Despite serving a high -deprivation community, the school consistently delivers above national outcomes and is widely recognised for its exceptional ECT development, inclusive practice, and staff wellbeing culture.

About the Role

• Teach Key Stage 2 pupils in a supportive and well -resourced primary phase

• Deliver engaging, inclusive lessons aligned with the school’s “progress for all” ethos

• Work collaboratively with experienced teachers, LSAs, and specialist staff

• Adapt high -quality planning and schemes of work to meet cohort needs

• Support pupils with SEND alongside a strong inclusion and pastoral team

Outstanding ECT Support

• Weekly mentor meetings with trained ECT mentors

• Bespoke coaching from SLT and phase leaders

• Team -teaching, modelling, and follow -up support when needed

• A whole -school coaching approach – supportive, not tick -box

• Clear ethos: “We don’t want anyone to fail”

Staff Wellbeing & Culture

• Two -week October half term (wellbeing -focused calendar)

• Open -door senior leadership team

• Regular staff social and community events

• Team -building initiatives such as Snack Wednesday
