Early Years Educator Apprenticeship - Oasis Academy Blakenhale



About the Role


Are you passionate about working with young children and looking to start a rewarding career in education? Oasis Academy Blakenhale is looking for an enthusiastic Early Years Educator Apprentice to join our vibrant and supportive team. As an apprentice, you’ll work mainly with children aged 5 or below in our Early Years/Foundation provision. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the classroom while studying for a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification.



Apprenticeship Summary




  • Hours: Monday–Friday (35 hours per week, shifts to be confirmed)

  • Pay: £8.58 per hour (first 12 months), then National Minimum Wage

  • Qualification: Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship

  • Duration: 19 months

  • Training: Online learning with regular support from a dedicated tutor at LMP Education, as well as your in-school mentor

  • Location: Blakenhale Road, Garrett's Green, Birmingham, West Midlands, B33 0XD



Key Responsibilities


As an Early Years Educator Apprentice, you will:



  • Support teaching and learning for individual pupils and small groups

  • Help children with their emotional, social, and physical development

  • Encourage independence and a love for learning

  • Assist in preparing and delivering engaging lessons and activities

  • Provide one-to-one support for children who may need additional help

  • Supervise classroom activities and ensure a positive learning environment

  • Promote positive behaviour in line with school policies

  • Respect and maintain confidentiality at all times

  • Take part in school events, meetings, and ongoing staff development

  • Help organise learning resources and classroom materials

  • Work closely with teachers and support staff as part of a collaborative team

  • Demonstrate a commitment to equality, diversity, and safeguarding

  • Support the personal care of pupils, such as meal and snack times, washing hands, toilet training, nappy changing, etc

Personal Qualities:



  • Passionate about working with young children

  • Friendly, caring, and nurturing approach

  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to the role

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills


Desired Skills & Qualifications:



  • 5 GCSEs (grades A*-C/9-4) including English and Maths or equivalent (e.g. Functional Skills Level 2)

  • Previous experience with children is a bonus, but not essential



Future Prospects



  • Opportunity for full-time employment at the academy upon successful completion of the apprenticeship

  • Ongoing professional development and career progression within the Oasis Community Learning Trust



Important Information



  • All apprentices must complete an Enhanced DBS check before starting

  • You will be paid for both your working hours and time spent completing apprenticeship training

  • This vacancy may close early if a suitable candidate is found
