Role: Early Years Special Needs Assistant

Hours: 32.5 per week

Salary: £17,500 - £20,000

The Role:

Veritas Education are working with primary schools in the Leeds area who are looking to recruit multiple permanent "Early Years Special Needs Practitioners" The roles will be supporting a range of learners with varying learning, communication and behaviour needs across their early years and Key Stage 1 classes.

• Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification, or a childcare/education-based degree.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Skills framework and curriculum.
• Experience supporting learning needs such as Autism, Asperger's, ADHD and others.
• Comfortable supporting on a 1:1 basis, across the classroom throughout sessions, play groups and other planned activities.
• Assisting with toilet support and hygiene requirements.
• Be able to manage challenging and crisis behaviour of learners within the early years age groups.

This is an ideal role for anyone who is currently in a nursery looking for more school based hours, or anyone who has just finished their childcare qualification or degree, ready for their new role!
