Ongoing ContractWe are currently looking for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Tooting to provide 1:1 support for a child with complex needs in Reception.

The Role

The school is looking for a confident and experienced Teaching Assistant who has a strong understanding of supporting children with complex special educational needs. You will be working closely with a child in Reception, providing individualised support to help them access learning, develop communication skills and engage positively in the school environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day.
Using appropriate SEND strategies and interventions to support the child's individual needs.
Supporting communication, interaction and emotional regulation.
Adapting activities and learning opportunities to ensure the child can participate in the classroom.
Working closely with the class teacher and SEND team to provide a consistent approach to support.The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a specialist SEND school or supporting children with complex needs in a mainstream setting. You should have a good understanding of SEND support strategies and be confident using a range of techniques to support communication, emotional regulation and learning.
