About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer to join a major nuclear power generation site near Morecambe. This is a plant-based role requiring a proactive engineer who can provide technical support, maintain system reliability, and ensure compliance with nuclear industry standards.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting electrical, control, and instrumentation systems across the station, contributing to safe and efficient plant operation.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide engineering support for electrical, control, and instrumentation systems, including both safety-related and non-safety systems.

* Investigate, diagnose, and resolve plant faults, abnormal events, and equipment degradation issues.

* Specify, review, and approve EC&I designs, modifications, and upgrade projects.

* Ensure all engineering activities comply with nuclear standards, regulations, and industry best practice.

* Support the development and review of maintenance strategies, including preventative, corrective, and condition-based maintenance.

* Conduct plant walkdowns, inspections, and system health assessments.

* Work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, and project teams to enhance plant performance and reliability.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

* Degree-qualified in Engineering or a related technical discipline (Electrical and instrument engineering)

* Strong background in both design and maintenance of Electrical, Control & Instrumentation engineering.

* Experience providing engineering support within a highly regulated industrial environment.

* Excellent fault-finding, problem-solving, and technical review skills.

* Strong understanding of engineering standards, maintenance strategies, and plant systems.

Desirable

* Previous experience within the nuclear industry.

* Familiarity with Nuclear Energy processes and standards.

* SQEP (Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person) status or ability to demonstrate equivalent competence.

Working Arrangements

* Full-time position.

* 5 days per week on-site.

* Plant-facing role with direct operational support responsibilities.

* Start as soon as possible.

* Very long term with no fixed end date.

* Inside IR35 so PAYE
