Ecologist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Ecologist/ EcologyConsultant with 2 years’ experience to join a well-established environmental consultancy. This full-time role offers hybrid working options, salary range of £32,000 - £40,000 and benefits.

As an Ecologist / EcologyConsultant, you will be supporting a range of ecological projects, contributing to habitat and species assessments while ensuring best practice and regulatory compliance.

You will be responsible for:

• Supporting the execution of ecological surveys and mitigation planning.
• Producing clear, accurate ecological reports such as Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEA) and contributions to Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA).
• Assisting with project delivery in collaboration with senior ecologists and other technical staff.
• Offering ecological guidance to clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Helping to build and maintain positive relationships with clients through professionalism and technical credibility.

What we are looking for:

• Previously worked as an Ecologist, Senior Ecologist, Ecological Consultant, Ecological Surveyor or in a similar role.
• At least 2 years’ professional experience in ecological consultancy.
• Possess degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Skilled in protected species and habitat surveys, with strong field skills.
• Hold membership of CIEEM or working towards it.
• Excellent technical report writing skills, following CIEEM guidelines.
• Bat and/or GCN Natural England licences would be preferred.
• Valid UK driving licence.
