Education Safeguarding Advisor / Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO)
Salary: £57,663 - £60,819 per annum
Location: Haringey, London
Contract: Permanent, Full Time (36 hours per week)

We're working with Haringey Council to recruit an experienced Education Safeguarding Advisor / LADO to join their Safeguarding & Social Care division. This is a specialist role focusing on child protection within education settings - a key statutory post that supports safeguarding across the borough.
The Role:
This post will see you take the lead in managing allegations made against education professionals, providing expert safeguarding advice to schools, early years settings, and post-16 providers. You'll coordinate multi-agency responses, chair strategy meetings, deliver safeguarding training, and support education professionals in maintaining safe environments for children and young people.
It's a busy and high-profile role requiring confidence, professionalism, and a deep understanding of safeguarding frameworks.
Key Duties:
Lead and coordinate the response to allegations made against individuals in education roles
Provide safeguarding guidance across education settings from Early Years to Post-16
Deliver training and raise awareness around safe practice
Chair meetings and contribute to multi-agency safeguarding responses
Produce high-quality reports and maintain accurate records
Visit and engage with schools and other educational establishments
The Ideal Candidate:
Qualified and registered Social Worker (Social Work England)
Strong background in safeguarding and child protection
In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance, and Keeping Children Safe in Education
Confident in liaising with professionals at all levels
Experience managing complex cases and contributing to strategic safeguarding activity
About the Team:
You'll join a small, experienced LADO service supported by a Service Manager and Business Support Officer. The team sits within Haringey's wider Engagement, Safeguarding, and Quality Assurance Service, offering regular supervision and opportunities for ongoing learning and development.
