Make a Difference in Secondary Education

We are seeking dedicated, enthusiastic, and compassionate Teaching Assistants to work within secondary schools across Wakefield. These long-term positions involve supporting students on a 1:1 basis and delivering targeted small group interventions, helping young people to reach their full academic and personal potential.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 support for students with additional learning, behavioural, or emotional needs.
Deliver planned intervention sessions to small groups of pupils.
Support students in accessing the curriculum and achieving learning objectives.
Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
Assist teachers in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
Promote positive behaviour and support students' social and emotional development.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Experience working with children or young people, preferably within an educational setting.
A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to build rapport with secondary-aged students.
Experience supporting students with SEND, SEMH, Autism, ADHD, or behavioural needs is highly desirable.
GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
