Respond to referrals from the SEND Team to support statutory assessments of special educational needs within agreed timescales.
Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments of children and young people, considering educational, developmental, familial, and community contexts.
Provide clear, robust, and evidence-based psychological advice to support Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Collaborate with schools, families, and other professionals to develop interventions and support strategies.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation and reports in line with legislative and local requirements.
Promote inclusive practice and contribute to the early intervention and graduated response frameworks.
Uphold the highest standards of professional practice in accordance with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) codes of conduct.
Participate in team meetings, supervision, CPD activities, and relevant local authority initiatives.
A recognised professional qualification in Educational Psychology.
Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist (Educational).
Demonstrable experience (or placement experience for early career applicants) in applying psychology in educational settings.
Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and statutory processes related to EHCPs.
Ability to write clear, concise, and accessible psychological reports that inform statutory decision-making.
Knowledge of child development, learning difficulties, emotional and behavioural needs, and systemic working.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
Proficiency in IT systems and digital tools used for casework, communication, and reporting.
