Job Description - Educational Psychologist


3 Month Contract with A Local Authority







Job Purpose

To provide high-quality educational psychology services within the London Borough of Enfield, undertaking statutory assessments for children and young people. The postholder will work collaboratively with schools, early years settings, families and other professionals to complete consultations, observations and assessments, while ensuring all statutory requirements and deadlines are met.









Key Responsibilities



  • Carry out statutory Educational Psychology assessments for children and young people.

  • Undertake face-to-face consultations, observations and assessments in Enfield schools, early years settings and family homes.

  • Prepare high-quality statutory assessment advice and reports within required statutory timescales.

  • Work collaboratively with children, young people, families, schools and other professionals as part of the assessment process.

  • Engage fully with the service’s quality assurance (QA) processes and maintain high professional standards.

  • Maintain accurate, confidential and GDPR-compliant records and documentation.

  • Use appropriate Educational Psychology service resources and assessment/testing equipment.

  • Participate in induction, safeguarding training and relevant continuing professional development (CPD) activities.

  • Comply with all relevant professional, safeguarding, confidentiality and information governance requirements.

  • Meet 100% of statutory deadlines and maintain a consistent, reliable service.

  • Contribute positively to the wider work and standards of the Enfield Educational Psychology Service.









Requirements



  • HCPC registration as an Educational Psychologist.

  • Minimum of three years’ post-qualification experience as an Educational Psychologist.

  • Demonstrable experience of carrying out statutory assessments.

  • Experience producing high-quality statutory assessment reports.

  • Ability and willingness to undertake consultations, observations and assessments face to face.

  • Ability to work across Enfield schools, early years settings and family homes.

  • Strong understanding of statutory assessment processes and deadlines.

  • Commitment to quality assurance processes and professional standards.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Commitment to safeguarding children and young people.

  • Ability to work in accordance with GDPR, confidentiality and information governance requirements.

  • Enhanced DBS clearance, including the children and adults’ barred lists, and satisfactory references covering all posts held during the last five years.

Candidate information required:



  • Confirmation that the candidate is able to work face to face within the London Borough of Enfield.

  • Names of Local Authority services in England for which the candidate has undertaken statutory assessments.

  • An anonymised example of a statutory assessment report written by the candidate.

  • Current CV.
