Location: Northampton
Start Date: September 2025 | Full-Time | Permanent & Long-Term Opportunities

Do you have a passion for supporting children with additional needs? Are you committed to making a real difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? A number of specialist and inclusive SEN schools across Northampton are looking for Educational Support Workers to join their dedicated teams from September 2025. These full-time roles offer a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who need tailored support, helping them thrive both academically and emotionally.

About the Role:
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health), and complex learning difficulties

  • Assist pupils with classroom activities, sensory programmes, and daily routines in line with personalised learning plans

  • Support behaviour management and promote positive, respectful interactions

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and support staff to ensure consistent, student-focused care

  • Contribute to a nurturing learning environment that supports emotional regulation and independence

  • Help with personal care and mobility where required (full training provided)

  • Record progress and observations to inform EHCP targets and ongoing support

We're Looking For:
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND (in schools, youth work, care, or similar settings)

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach with a strong sense of resilience

  • Good communication skills and the ability to build trust with students and staff

  • A proactive attitude and willingness to adapt to meet individual pupil needs

  • Understanding of safeguarding, inclusive practice, and person-centred support

  • Relevant training or qualifications (e.g. Team Teach, Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, or Health & Social Care) are desirable but not essential - full induction and training available

What's on Offer:
  • Full-time and long-term roles in specialist SEN settings across Northampton

  • Supportive school environments with experienced SEN teams and pastoral care structures

  • Ongoing CPD and access to training in behaviour support, communication strategies, and safeguarding

  • Opportunities for career progression into SEN teaching, therapy, or pastoral leadership

  • A genuinely rewarding role where you can make a daily impact on a young person's confidence, progress, and wellbeing

If you're ready to make a difference and want to be part of a compassionate, child-centred team, apply now for Educational Support Worker roles in SEN schools across Northamptonshire, starting September 2025.
