Summary
We are looking for dedicated and empathetic EHCP Officers to join our team. This role is crucial in supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) by providing high-quality social care advice for Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The position is aimed at assisting children without an allocated social worker, ensuring they receive fair, timely, and child-focused support. The successful candidate will collaborate with families, professionals, and partner agencies to achieve effective outcomes in compliance with statutory requirements.

Responsibilities
Provide high-quality social care advice for EHCPs in line with statutory guidance and deadlines.
Conduct telephone-based assessments with families, carers, and professionals.
Collect, analyse, and accurately record information using internal Trust systems.
Communicate with parents, carers, professionals, and partner agencies to inform assessments.
Manage a caseload of referrals, ensuring adherence to timescales and priorities.
Employ a child-centred and strengths-based approach in all work aspects.
Direct families to suitable Early Help services and support pathways.
Maintain clear, timely communication with families and stakeholders, sharing advice appropriately.
Identify safeguarding concerns and take appropriate action following procedures.

Proven ability to manage a demanding workload and meet strict deadlines.
Experience handling sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
Experience engaging with families and professionals in a supportive and professional manner.
Experience working collaboratively across multi-agency environments.

Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and early help frameworks.
Excellent written, verbal, and telephone communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and data accuracy.
Competent IT skills, including experience with case management systems and data entry.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proactive, flexible, and professional approach to work.
Understanding of the SEND Code of Practice (desirable).
