We’re recruiting for an experienced EHS Manager to take responsibility for Health, Safety and Environmental performance at a busy manufacturing and recycling facility in Warwickshire.
This is a senior site-based role, reporting directly to the Plant Director and forming part of the Site Management Team. You’ll lead the site EHS function, drive a proactive safety culture and ensure the business remains compliant with all relevant legislation, permits and environmental standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
Lead Health, Safety and Environmental compliance across the site Act as the site’s subject matter expert and main point of contact for EHS Develop and maintain EHS policies, procedures and management systems Lead site audits, inspections, Gemba walks and risk assessments Manage relationships with regulatory bodies including the HSE and Environment Agency Lead investigations into incidents, accidents and near misses, including root cause analysis Ensure effective corrective and preventative actions are implemented Maintain ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and RecyClass accreditation Monitor EHS performance, KPIs and trends to identify improvement opportunities Deliver EHS training, toolbox talks and safety awareness programmes Support capital projects and operational improvements from an EHS perspective Lead Health & Safety Committee meetings and safety representative programmes Develop and coach the EHS team, including 2 EHS Coordinators and an EHS Administrator Support emergency response, business continuity and risk management planning Implement wider corporate EHS initiatives across the site Drive continuous improvement and promote a strong Safety First culture Requirements
Significant EHS experience within manufacturing, recycling, waste management or a fast-paced production environment Proven experience leading and developing professional teams Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and regulatory compliance Experience with audits, inspections and incident investigations Experience dealing with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders Strong understanding of environmental compliance and permitting Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 6 Health & Safety qualification Strong auditing, reporting and root cause analysis skills Excellent communication and influencing skills Confident working with employees and operational leaders at all levels Full UK driving licence Desirable
