EICA Engineer - Operational Technology - Water Industry
Location: South East England (Hampshire based) Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 + car allowance Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Our client is seeking an experienced EICA / Operational Technology (OT) Engineer to join a specialist engineering team supporting critical industrial infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong PLC, SCADA and Industrial Control Systems experience to work on a wide variety of operational technology projects within a highly regulated environment.
This role will involve delivering OT improvements, supporting commissioning activities, maintaining critical control systems, and providing technical expertise across multiple operational sites.
Key Responsibilities
Provide specialist EICA and Operational Technology (OT) engineering support across industrial process and infrastructure assets.
Deliver OT and Industrial Control System (ICS) improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reliability and resilience.
Manage and implement small-scale OT and automation projects from concept through to completion.
Upgrade, modify and optimise PLC, HMI and SCADA systems.
Support process improvements through control system modifications and continuous improvement initiatives.
Carry out Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and commissioning activities.
Provide technical guidance, mentoring and training to engineering teams where required.
Maintain change control procedures for PLC software, HMI applications, SCADA systems and associated documentation.
Monitor and support Operational Technology cyber security systems, ensuring compliance with industry best practice.
Diagnose and resolve complex faults on Industrial Control Systems and automation equipment.
Provide reactive engineering support to minimise operational downtime.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
* Previous experience working within Operational Technology (OT) or Industrial IT environments.
* Strong experience with PLC programming, HMI development and SCADA systems.
* Experience interpreting engineering drawings, control philosophies and project documentation.
* HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electronic Engineering, Control Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
* A strong understanding of Industrial Control Systems (ICS).
* Experience designing, modifying and integrating PLC, SCADA and HMI systems.
* Good knowledge of industrial networking and OT communications protocols.
* The ability to obtain UK Government Security Clearance (SC).
* Full UK Driving Licence.
