Job title: Electrical Bias Maintenance Engineer
Salary: Up to £45,000 + £3,556 shift allowance
Overall package: Circa £50,000 per annum, including regular overtime
Shift: Double days, Monday to Friday

We are recruiting an experienced Senior Electrical Bias Maintenance Engineer to support a highly automated manufacturing operation. This is a hands-on role combining electrical fault-finding and preventative maintenance with responsibility for supporting and guiding the wider maintenance team.

The position would suit an electrically biased engineer with strong CNC, PLC, robotics and automation experience who enjoys solving complex technical problems and improving equipment reliability.

The role
You will help ensure production equipment operates safely and efficiently, minimising downtime and maintaining continuity across the manufacturing facility. Your responsibilities will include:

Providing hands-on breakdown support across manufacturing and facilities
Diagnosing electrical, mechanical, PLC, HMI and robotic faults
Maintaining and improving automated production lines
Completing planned and preventative maintenance activities
Supporting maintenance engineers and allocating departmental resources effectively
Working closely with TPM, technical support, quality and manufacturing engineers
Supporting the introduction and commissioning of new machinery
Identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities
Ensuring maintenance records and job sheets are completed accurately
Monitoring consumable stock levels and supporting associated departments
Promoting safe working practices, including correct PPE use
Maintaining high 5C and TPM standards
What we are looking for

Electrical or electronic qualification at HNC level or above
Strong electrical bias with complementary mechanical maintenance skills
Extensive experience within a manufacturing or production environment
CNC machinery maintenance experience
PLC fault-finding or formal PLC training
Experience with servo motors and drives
FANUC robot experience
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
Experience supporting automated production equipment
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capabilities
Confident communication skills at all levels
Ability to work independently and support a wider engineering team
Good understanding of health and safety requirements
Availability for double-day shifts, with occasional weekend and shutdown support

The role operates on a rotating double-day shift:

Week 1: 6:00am–2:00pm, Monday to Thursday; 6:00am–11:00am Friday
Week 2: 2:00pm–10:00pm, Monday to Thursday; 11:00am–4:00pm Friday
