We are working with a leading UK organisation within the energy-from-waste and resource recovery sector, operating a large-scale Energy Recovery Facility. This organisation plays a key role in supporting the UK’s sustainability and carbon reduction targets.
An opportunity has arisen for an Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer to join their team at their Bristol site.
The Role
As the EC&I Engineer, you will be responsible for all electrical, control and instrumentation engineering and maintenance activities on site, working closely with the mechanical and central engineering teams.
You will ensure the long-term reliability, performance, and compliance of the plant, supporting safe and efficient operations.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading EC&I maintenance and engineering activities across the plant
Planning and delivering preventative and reactive maintenance
Managing EC&I workshops and associated resources
Maximising plant availability and asset performance
Supporting the achievement of departmental financial targets
Supervising contractors and internal teams to deliver KPIs
Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
Requirements
Strong knowledge of EC&I systems, equipment, and repair methods
Experience with safe systems of work, including plant isolations and safety systems
Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems
Experience maintaining Distributed Control Systems (e.g. Siemens, Valmet or similar)
Understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation within process, power, or heavy industry environments
Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
Proven experience supervising teams and contractors
ONC / HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
Ability to operate as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP)
Experience working on both LV and HV electrical systems
