We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Craftsperson to join a busy engineering and maintenance team in Birmingham.

⚑ This is an excellent opportunity for a fully qualified, apprentice-trained electrician with strong practical experience across electrical installations, repairs, testing, maintenance and fault finding.

The role will involve supporting the day-to-day electrical maintenance of the site, ensuring electrical systems and assets remain safe, compliant and fully operational.

πŸ”§ What You’ll Be Doing:

πŸ”Œ Carrying out general electrical installations, repairs and maintenance across the site.

πŸ’‘ Installing, repairing and replacing sockets, switches, lamps and other electrical components.

πŸ› οΈ Carrying out retrofitting and replacement of electrical components and equipment.

⚑ Undertaking electrical rewiring and modification works to existing assets and systems.

🚨 Installing, testing and maintaining emergency lighting systems.

πŸ“‹ Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in accordance with schedules and site requirements.

πŸ”² Inspecting and carrying out checks on fuse boards and distribution equipment.

πŸ§ͺ Undertaking PAT testing and associated remedial works.

⚑ Carrying out RCD testing and electrical safety checks.

πŸ” Diagnosing electrical faults and completing repairs safely and efficiently.

πŸ“‘ Completing maintenance records, test results, job sheets and associated compliance documentation accurately.

🦺 Working safely at all times and following relevant Health & Safety procedures, electrical regulations and safe systems of work.

🚨 Responding to reactive maintenance requests and electrical faults as required.

☎️ Participating in an on-call rota of approximately 1 in 9/10 to support out-of-hours maintenance requirements.

⏱️ Supporting additional overtime when required and available.

🀝 Working closely with colleagues, supervisors and other engineering disciplines to ensure reliable site operations.

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ”§ What We’re Looking For:

πŸŽ“ A completed Electrical Apprenticeship with relevant electrical qualifications.

⚑ 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.

πŸ› οΈ AM2 qualification.

πŸ”§ Strong hands-on experience in electrical installation, maintenance and repair.

πŸ’‘ Practical experience working with sockets, switches, lighting, lamps and electrical components.

🚨 Experience with emergency lighting installation, testing and maintenance.

πŸ§ͺ Experience carrying out PAT testing and RCD testing.

πŸ”² Knowledge and practical experience of fuse boards, distribution equipment and electrical systems.

πŸ” Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

πŸ“– Good understanding of electrical regulations, compliance and safe working practices.

πŸ“‹ Good attention to detail with the ability to complete maintenance and testing documentation accurately.

🧠 Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and respond effectively to reactive maintenance requirements.

πŸ’¬ Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a wider engineering team.

πŸš— A full UK driving licence is required.

☎️ Flexibility and willingness to participate in an on-call rota.

⭐ Desirable:

βœ”οΈ Previous experience within Facilities Management, Building Services, Engineering, Manufacturing or Industrial environments

βœ”οΈ Experience carrying out electrical PPMs

βœ”οΈ Experience with emergency lighting systems

βœ”οΈ Experience with electrical testing and inspection

βœ”οΈ Experience working within a multi-skilled engineering or facilities team

βœ”οΈ Additional electrical or maintenance qualifications

πŸ” Important Requirements:

πŸ›‚ This position requires a DBS Standard check, therefore the successful candidate must be able to satisfy the requirements of the check.

πŸŽ“ Completed Electrical Apprenticeship is required.

⚑ 18th Edition Wiring Regulations is required.

πŸš— A valid full driving licence is required.
