Join a highly advanced engineering and technology centre working at the forefront of industrial automation and robotics. This is a hands-on Electrical Design role, offering full lifecycle involvement – from concept through to testing and validation – across a variety of complex electro-mechanical systems.
We’re looking for an Electrical Design Engineer who can take true design ownership. That means leading the development of full electrical systems and confidently solving real-world engineering problems without the need for hand-holding. If you're someone who thrives on autonomy and technical responsibility, this is the ideal environment to grow and shine.

Electrical Design Engineer Benefits:
  • Work with cutting-edge automation and robotics technology
  • Fantastic workshop and prototyping facilities
  • Development opportunities within a multidisciplinary team
  • Collaborative and forward-thinking engineering culture
  • Occasional travel across the UK, Europe & North America
Electrical Design Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and development of robust, production-ready electrical systems
  • Take full ownership of tasks such as wiring up drive motors, integrating brake controllers, and delivering functional systems from schematics
  • Create and maintain detailed design documentation (schematics, test plans, BoMs)
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, and test teams for integrated development
  • Support in fault diagnosis, testing and system validation
  • Optimise designs for manufacture by engaging with internal procurement, production, and quality teams
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to technical reviews
What We’re Looking For:
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar technical discipline)
  • Minimum 4–5 years’ experience in electrical design for complex machinery or systems
  • Solid understanding of electrical integration and confidence in developing systems without supervision
  • Familiarity with communication networks (e.g. CANbus)
  • Experience with harness design, wiring, and system-level testing
  • Ability to read, troubleshoot, and build from technical diagrams
  • Hands-on mindset with a proactive and problem-solving approach
