Join a highly advanced engineering and technology centre working at the forefront of industrial automation and robotics. This is a hands-on Electrical Design role, offering full lifecycle involvement – from concept through to testing and validation – across a variety of complex electro-mechanical systems. We’re looking for an Electrical Design Engineer who can take true design ownership. That means leading the development of full electrical systems and confidently solving real-world engineering problems without the need for hand-holding. Electrical Design Engineer Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of robust, production-ready electrical systems
Take full ownership of tasks such as wiring up drive motors, integrating brake controllers, and delivering functional systems from schematics
Create and maintain detailed design documentation (schematics, test plans, BoMs)
Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, and test teams for integrated development
Support in fault diagnosis, testing and system validation
Optimise designs for manufacture by engaging with internal procurement, production, and quality teams
Mentor junior team members and contribute to technical reviews
What We’re Looking For:
Degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar technical discipline)
Minimum 4–5 years’ experience in electrical design for complex machinery or systems
Solid understanding of electrical integration and confidence in developing systems without supervision
Familiarity with communication networks (e.g. CANbus)
Experience with harness design, wiring, and system-level testing
Ability to read, troubleshoot, and build from technical diagrams
Hands-on mindset with a proactive and problem-solving approach
