Electrical Fitter / Panel Wirer

Location: Blackburn, Aberdeen

Employment: Full-time, Permanent

We're recruiting an experienced Electrical Fitter / Panel Wirer to join a well-established engineering workshop in Blackburn, Aberdeen.

This is a varied position involving the electrical and mechanical assembly, wiring and testing of control panels and associated equipment for industrial, safe-area and hazardous-area applications.

The role also provides the opportunity to undertake client site and offshore work.

THE ROLE

Key responsibilities will include:

* Electrical and electronic assembly
* Fitting components to backplates and assembling control panels
* Wiring control panels from circuit diagrams and engineering drawings
* Assisting with functional checks and electrical testing
* Fault-finding and problem-solving in the workshop and on site
* Completing relevant quality and testing documentation
* Working in accordance with health, safety and quality procedures
* Attending client sites and offshore locations when required

ABOUT YOU

We're looking for someone with previous experience in control panel wiring, electrical assembly or industrial electrical installation.

You should ideally have:

* A recognised electrical qualification or apprenticeship
* Current CompEx certification
* Valid offshore survival and medical certification
* Experience wiring control panels
* Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams and engineering drawings
* Experience testing electrical assemblies
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Flexibility to travel and work offshore when required

Experience with ATEX or IECEx equipment and hazardous-area control systems would be advantageous.
