We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Inspector to join a major nuclear project in Cumbria. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring electrical installations, equipment, and systems are inspected and verified to meet project, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct inspections of electrical installations, systems, equipment, and associated documentation. Verify compliance with engineering drawings, project specifications, standards, and procedures. Witness electrical testing and commissioning activities. Review inspection and test plans (ITPs), test records, and quality documentation. Identify, document, and track non-conformances through to resolution. Monitor installation activities to ensure adherence to approved processes and standards. Produce detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records. Support quality audits, supplier surveillance, and regulatory inspections. Liaise with construction, commissioning, engineering, and quality teams to ensure successful project delivery. Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all activities.Essential Requirements
Previous experience as an Electrical Inspector within Nuclear, Defence, Power Generation, Utilities, Oil & Gas, or other regulated industries. Strong understanding of electrical inspection practices and quality assurance processes. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and technical documentation. Experience inspecting LV and/or HV electrical installations. Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations. Excellent communication and reporting skills.Desirable
Nuclear sector experience. City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent electrical qualification. 18th Edition qualification. CompEx, NACE, or other inspection-related certifications.
