Area Supervisor – Electrical

Location: Welwyn Garden City
Salary: £44,075 – £47,150 per annum
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm (40 hours)
Additional: Supervisory call-out rota, including evenings and weekends
Contract: Full-time

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Supervisor to oversee and support a team of qualified electrical engineers across our compliance and energy services operation.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical engineer looking to take the next step into a supervisory role, combining technical expertise, leadership, quality assurance and operational management.

Working closely with the Electrical Manager, you will help ensure engineers deliver work safely, efficiently and to the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and support electrical and gas engineering teams.

Provide technical guidance, coaching and training to engineers.

Manage day-to-day workloads and support delivery of weekly productivity targets.

Carry out quality checks, site inspections and health & safety audits.

Communicate company procedures, technical updates and client requirements to engineers.

Deliver a technical section within monthly toolbox talks.

Ensure engineers work within their approved competencies and maintain appropriate competence records.

Support new starter induction, training and ongoing development.

Assist with resolving technical issues, problematic jobs and customer complaints.

Attend sites where required to provide technical support and facilitate resolution of issues.

Develop strong working relationships with clients and internal teams.

Support the Electrical Manager with operational and technical matters and provide cover when required.

Work closely with SHEQ to maintain compliance with health & safety legislation, risk assessments and company procedures.

Help promote a positive culture of quality, teamwork, professional standards and continuous improvement.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

Proven experience within electrical engineering, ideally with supervisory or leadership experience.

Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving ability.

Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Experience supporting, coaching or developing engineers.

A strong understanding of health & safety and quality standards.

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Strong customer service and client relationship skills.

A proactive, resilient and professional approach.

The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet operational targets.
