The Electrical Project Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of electrical installation packages across multiple commercial fit-out projects. The role involves managing electrical subcontractors, suppliers and trade packages to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Working closely with Maris Interiors and Maris Contracts Project Managers, Site Managers and the wider project delivery team, the Electrical Project Manager will coordinate all aspects of electrical works from pre-construction through to project completion, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, company procedures and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the delivery of electrical works packages across multiple projects.
Coordinate electrical subcontractors, suppliers and specialist contractors to ensure efficient project delivery.
Review electrical designs, assess buildability and provide practical, cost-effective installation solutions.
Monitor progress on site, ensuring work is completed safely, to programme and in accordance with quality standards.
Maintain high standards of workmanship, housekeeping and site safety.
Ensure compliance with all relevant Health and Safety legislation, Construction (Design and Management) Regulations, Building Regulations and accessibility requirements.
Manage technical submissions, drawings, approvals and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Work collaboratively with Project Managers, Construction Managers, building management teams and neighbouring occupiers to coordinate project activities and minimise disruption.
Attend pre-start meetings, site reviews, contractor meetings and regular progress meetings.
Maintain financial control of electrical packages through procurement, purchase order management, cost tracking, valuation of variations and change management.
Produce accurate weekly project progress reports and maintain comprehensive project records.
Coordinate commissioning activities and ensure all testing and certification requirements are completed.
Compile and issue Operation & Maintenance Manuals, as-built drawings and test certification within agreed project timescales.
Ensure projects are completed to a high standard with minimal defects, supporting successful practical completion and client handover.
Comply with all company policies, procedures and Maris Contracts Golden Rules.
Skills, Qualifications and ExperienceEssential
* Qualified Electrician with City & Guilds 236 Part 1 and Part 2.
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
* Strong knowledge of commercial electrical installation practices and standards.
* Experience managing electrical packages on commercial construction or fit-out projects.
* Good commercial awareness with an understanding of project costs, procurement and change management.
* Excellent organisational, planning and project management skills.
* Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, subcontractors and suppliers.
* Good understanding of Health and Safety legislation and Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
* Competent in Microsoft Office and project documentation systems.
