Job Description - Electrical Supervisor

Electrical Site Supervisor
Job Type: Contract or Perm (Negotiable Rate or Salary dependant on experience)
Location: Midlands – Site based on a project-by-project basis
Framework: Severn Trent Water
Travel: This role is primarily site based on sites located across the Severn Trent Water region.

Anderselite are recruiting for a Electrical Site Supervisor to join our client's MEICA team to deliver innovative and challenging project in covering a diverse portfolio of MEICA and Civil works. You will work on our Severn Trent Water Frameworks within our UK delivery team, who are experienced in successfully delivering schemes of varying sizes, predominately to the Water Industry, across both Treatment Waste and Water schemes.

High levels of motivation and resilience, together with strong technical, quality control and organisational skills are essential for this role. The candidate will have a proven track record as an Electrical Site Supervisor. They will demonstrate integrity, a hard-working ethic and be target focused, whilst embracing the challenges and changes within the industry. The Electrical Site Supervisor will play a key role in the support of a team culture within their team and as part of the company.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support the Site Agent, Project Manager and MEICA Manager, while being a member of a multi-disciplined team to supervise external sub-contractors to ensure their works is carried out in a safe and effective manner whilst delivering a high quality, client specification compliant, installation.
• Ensure compliance with Coffey's HSQE policies and Electrical Safety Rules are adhered to in addition to required standards, policies and statutory regulations for Health & Safety.
• Act as Electrical Authorised Person on site and liaise with Seven Trent Water to ensure the control of electrical danger is adequately managed.
• Develop and Review Risk Assessments, Method Statements to ensure compliance with Coffey HSQE standards.
• Complying with all relevant Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Safe Systems of Work Plans, and working in a safe and responsible manner at all times.
• Record the progress of works on record drawings or other suitable means when required.
• Inspect and record incoming materials and their documentation where required.
• Assist in planning work activities and sequencing with the project team and sub-contractors.
• Assist Project Engineers in the timely delivery of materials and site presence from sub-contract installation teams.
• Carrying out toolbox talks and daily briefs.
• Inducting onsite personnel, subcontractors and visitors.
• Ensuring that current certifications and records are maintained for training of on-site personnel, subcontractors, plant and equipment used as part of the works.
• Ensuring that any defects to plant and equipment are repaired in a timely manner, and defective plant and equipment is removed from use and clearly identified.
• Ensuring all employees and subcontractors are wearing the correct PPE at all times.
• Reporting accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences and/or near misses to the Project Manager/Engineer. In the absence of the project manager the HSQE and HR departments must be contacted directly.
• Maintaining good housekeeping and ensuring that all walkways are kept clear of all obstruction.
• Implementing emergency plans when required.
• Liaising with internal / external safety officers and auditors during site inspections.
• Recording and closing non-conformances for individual projects and supporting the Project Manager to ensure that the corrective action, root cause and preventative / improvement actions are successfully identified.
• Applying industry best practice and workmanship to ensure a ‘right first time' outcome is achieved during installation.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues, customers, suppliers and other contractors.
• Identifying and promoting new ideas and improvements to the business via the appropriate reporting mechanisms.
• Other duties as may arise from time to time that are consistent with the job-holder's knowledge and skills, that are needed to effectively perform the role.

Desirable Experience and Qualifications:

• Relevant qualifications (ONC/HNC/equivalent – electrical or ICA) or extensive proven experience.
• Minimum two years' experience in a similar role within the utilities sector and/or M&E engineering environment.
• Experience of electrical installations in water and wastewater treatment sector.
• Experience of working to electrical procedures, including providing Electrical Permits. Pre-authorised Severn Trent Water approved Senior Authorised Person is preferable.
• Experience with LV electrical switchgear and motor control centres, control systems and telemetry.
• Experience with industrial low voltage electrical installations.
• Awareness of High Voltage installations.
• ECS CARD and EUSR.
• SSSTS/SMSTS
• First Aid
• Flexibility in travel and location within Severn Trent Water region.
• Mechanical awareness and training would be an advantage.
