£60,000 - £70,000 basic + benefits Derby - Full time & On-site
The Opportunity
We are currently looking for an experienced Electrical Systems Integration Engineer to join an established aviation engineering organisation in Derby.
This is a system-level electrical engineering role, focused on integrating electrical and avionics equipment into aircraft modification programmes. You will work across multiple engineering disciplines to ensure electrical systems, equipment, power and interfaces work together as a complete solution.
This is not a PCB or component-level electronics design role.
Key Responsibilities Produce and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and interconnect drawings. Define and manage electrical interfaces between equipment and aircraft systems. Support the integration of power, signals, controls and data interfaces. Identify and resolve electrical system integration and interface issues. Work closely with electrical, avionics, mechanical, structural and other engineering teams. Interpret technical specifications, drawings and existing aircraft documentation. Develop and maintain accurate engineering documentation and configuration-controlled data. Support engineering changes, design reviews and project delivery. Ensure electrical designs meet relevant engineering standards and customer requirements. What We're Looking For
Essential:
Experience in electrical design, electrical engineering or systems integration. Strong experience producing/reviewing wiring diagrams, schematics and electrical interconnect documentation. Understanding of system-level electrical interfaces, power and signal requirements. Ability to work across multidisciplinary engineering teams. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Experience working within structured engineering/documentation processes.
Desirable:
Aerospace or aviation engineering experience. Aircraft electrical, avionics, EWIS or installation experience. Experience within a Part 21 Design Organisation. Experience supporting STC or aircraft modification programmes. Knowledge of aerospace certification and regulatory requirements. Experience with electrical/CAD design software. Important
We are particularly interested in engineers who understand how complete electrical systems interact, rather than candidates whose experience is primarily focused on PCB, circuit or component-level electronics design.
Part 21 or certification experience is not essential - strong electrical systems integration experience from aerospace, defence or another highly regulated engineering environment will also be considered Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
