Electrician | Data Centre's | Mon-Fri daytime | £55-60K + benefits

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Electrician to join the on-site facilities team supporting a major Financial Services Data Centre facility in Croydon.

This is a Monday-to-Friday, daytime position focused primarily on the day-to-day electrical and general building maintenance of the site.

Unlike a traditional Data Centre Engineer position, this role is less focused on specialist plant equipment such as UPS systems, generators, chillers and critical cooling. Instead, we are looking for a strong general electrician who is comfortable looking after the wider building and its electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the building

* General electrical fault finding and repairs

* Lighting maintenance, including replacement of lamps, fittings and emergency lighting

* Fire alarm testing, checks and basic fault investigation

* Carry out routine electrical inspections and testingSupport general building maintenance and facilities activities

* Complete PPM schedules and associated maintenance documentationIdentify faults and arrange/escalate specialist repairs where required

* Ensure work is completed safely and in line with site proceduresLiaise with other engineers, contractors and facilities teams

* Maintain a professional approach within a high-profile corporate environment

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will be an electrically qualified maintenance engineer/electrician with experience working within a commercial building, facilities management or similar environment.

Relevant backgrounds could include:

* Commercial Building Maintenance

* Facilities Management

* Office / Corporate Facilities

* Hospitals / Healthcare Estates

* Hotels

* Retail or Shopping Centres

* Government / Public-Sector Buildings

* Large Residential or Mixed-Use Developments

Data centre experience is not required.

Qualifications & Experience

Ideally, you will hold:

* NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent

* 18th Edition Wiring RegulationsGood understanding of electrical maintenance and fault finding

* Experience with fire alarms, emergency lighting and general building electrical systems

* Experience carrying out planned and reactive maintenance

Additional electrical testing qualifications would be beneficial but are not essential.
