In the IKEA world, we call this position a Visual Merchandising Team Assistant The role of Visual Merchandising Team Assistant has a starting salary of £25,184. Following secondment principles, if a salary increase is awarded it will be paid as a secondment allowance. The amount decided is dependent on the successful candidates current base salary and their displayed competencies for the role. The co-worker's current benefits remain the same for the duration of the secondment, bonus level is subject to change. Due to health & safety candidates must be over 18 years of age! WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE
We are looking for someone with passion about home furnishings and have customer at heart in everything they do. Level 2 city and guilds.
Recognised training of basic hand tool electrical & Ladder training (or equivalent), documented annual check to assess works to a certified standard including:
Electrical Regulations and best practises for electrical safety
Working with single phase (domestic) mains electricity
Safe use of ladders
Cable routing
Correct termination of cables
Correct wiring of plugs and light fittings
Safe use of basic hand tools for shop fitting
Understanding of Com&In Health and Safety practises
Creative thinking supported by commercial visual competence and a keen eye for aesthetic
Actively seeking new and improved ways of working simply and cost-efficiently
Openness to change and flexibility in varying fast paced environment
Work well and collaborative in their approach within team and other functions
Positive communication style using influencing skills and situational leadership
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
Supporting the Implementation of commercial changes in the retail unit/s for practical works including basic wiring and assembly/disassembly of shop fixtures where required
Maintaining a Store In Shape of New approach including proactive planning for range changes
Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge around compliance requirements for basic electrical works
Keep visitors in mind when working on the shop floor, minimise disruption and remain aware at all times of the importance of safety and the visual impact for visitors.
Respect routines and responsibilities, work together with the Com&In team and other functions, act quickly to exploit commercial opportunities and understand the impact of actions on the financial results.
Secure high quality, simplicity and cost-consciousness in the execution of work by using best practises and following established best practise routines
Actively contribute to the department action plan with initiatives that will grow the business and support long term profitability and execute the agreed plans in close co-operation with other functions.
Implement the agreed Com&In/Store action plan with a sense of urgency and an eye of detail in order to support the creation of a strong visual impression in the store
Ability to support implementations away from home site when required
Working with the wider Visual Merchandiser Team to complete tasks when a new range is introduced. WE CARE FOR THE PEOPLE
