About the opportunity

Our client is recruiting two subcontract electricians to work locally in Ely and the surrounding Cambridgeshire area, on a contract that will run for at least another year. You'll have a steady, local pipeline of work with no long commute, and agreed prices so you know what each job is worth before you start.

The roles

Role 1 – Electrician
General electrical work across domestic properties, such as fitting extractor fans and other smaller installations. Paid as price work or by an agreed day rate, depending on the job.

Role 2 – PV Electrician
Installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on agreed job prices. A single PV electrician completing one job a day can earn around £450 per day, with more possible when working with a mate.

Key responsibilities

* Carry out electrical installations safely, to a high standard and in line with current wiring regulations

* Install, test and commission solar PV systems (PV role)

* Complete smaller electrical tasks such as fan installations (Electrician role)

* Complete testing, certification and job paperwork accurately

* Work across sites in Ely and the surrounding Cambridgeshire area, managing your own daily workload

* Represent the client professionally with customers on site

Requirements

* Qualified electrician with relevant experience on domestic installations

* Solar PV installation experience and qualifications (PV role)

* Based in or near Cambridgeshire, ideally within easy reach of Ely

* Self-employed / subcontractor status with own tools

* Full UK driving licence

* Reliable, tidy and confident working independently
