Job Title: Electrician - Street Lighting

Location: Sittingbourne, Kent

Start Date: September 2026

Contract Duration: Ongoing (temporary contract)

Pay Rate: £140 - £180 per day (dependent on qualifications and pay type; PAYE, Umbrella PAYE or CIS)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Street Light Operative for an immediate start on a street lighting maintenance and installation contract in Sittingbourne.

Key Responsibilities

Street lighting column removal and erection.
Other street lighting furniture (eg Bollards and signposts)
Working collaboratively within traffic management
May be expected to put out their own chapter 8
Private connections and terminating
Excavation and reinstatement - making pathway/verge good

Requirements

HERS Card / ECS Card (Highway Electrical Registration Scheme essential)

Slinger / Signaller qualification preferrable

NRSWA
G39 Certificate (Working safely near electricity supply networks preferred).

Safety Critical Medical certification

First Aid training
Manual handling training
Full UK Driving Licence (C1 / HGV Category C is a plus).

Full PPE (Steel toe boots, high-vis jacket/trousers, hard hat, and gloves).

Right to work in the UK
