Electro-Mechanical Technician – Automated Warehousing – North Warwickshire / Home Counties – £50-55k
Samuel Frank is recruiting for an Electro-Mechanical Technician to join a growing automation business delivering automated warehousing and material handling systems across the UK. This role will suit a hands-on Electro-Mechanical Technician who enjoys assembling, fault finding and testing machinery both on the shop floor and on customer sites.
The successful Electro-Mechanical Technician will split their time between the company’s Innovation Centre in North Warwickshire (around 40%) and customer sites across the Home Counties (around 60%). Working alongside experienced Commissioning Engineers, you’ll help prepare machines for Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) before travelling to customer sites to support installation, Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and final commissioning.
Key aspects of the Electro-Mechanical Technician role include;
* Mechanical and electrical assembly of bespoke automated warehousing equipment
* Setting up machinery electrically and mechanically for Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
* Assisting Commissioning Engineers during FAT, identifying and resolving electrical and mechanical issues before equipment leaves the factory
* Preparing equipment for installation, including positioning machinery onto rails and completing pre-delivery checks
* Travelling to customer sites across the Home Counties to assist with machine installation, assembly and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
* Debugging and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical faults during both FAT and SAT
* Working closely with the software commissioning team to resolve issues during machine testing
* Reading and working from electrical drawings and mechanical assembly drawings
* Plenty of overtime available during installation and commissioning activities
The successful Electro-Mechanical Technician will have;
* Previous experience assembling, installing and fault finding industrial machinery
* Experience gained with a machine builder, OEM or special purpose machinery manufacturer would be ideal
* Maintenance Engineers with strong electrical and mechanical fault finding skills are encouraged to apply
* 18th Edition electrical qualification
* Valid CSCS card and experience working safely on customer sites
* PLC fault finding experience would be beneficial but isn’t essential
* Engineering apprenticeship or technical qualifications would be advantageous, although strong hands-on experience is equally important
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the Home Counties
The successful Electro-Mechanical Technician will join a growing UK engineering team working on technically interesting automated warehousing and material handling systems. This is a varied role offering a genuine mix of workshop-based assembly, machine testing and customer site installation, making it ideal for someone who enjoys building, troubleshooting and commissioning machinery rather than carrying out routine maintenance.
The shop floor part of the role is commutable from Coventry, Hinckley, Tamworth, East and North Birmingham, Leicester and Rugby.
If you’re an Electro-Mechanical Technician looking for a varied role with plenty of site work and the opportunity to work on bespoke automation projects from build through to customer handover, please apply today Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
