Job Description - Electronics Design Engineer

Job Title: Electronics Design Engineer
Location: Dorset
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 per annum

Job Overview:

My innovative engineering client is currently on the lookout for a talented Electronics Design Engineer to join their forward-thinking R&D team. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design, development, and testing of electronic hardware systems. You will play a key role in developing both analogue and digital circuitry, PCB layout and design, and integrating microcontroller-based systems for a wide range of products.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, prototype, and validate electronic circuits (analogue and digital) for new and existing products.
Develop and maintain schematic designs and multi-layer PCB layouts using industry-standard EDA tools (e.g., Altium Designer)
Select and integrate microcontrollers, sensors, power supplies, and communication interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, USB, etc.).
Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, and systems engineers to ensure seamless integration of hardware with software and enclosure designs.
Support product development from concept through production, including design reviews, testing, validation, and troubleshooting.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
Strong PCB design and layout skills using professional CAD tools.
Proven experience in analogue and digital electronics design.
Experience with embedded firmware development (C/C++).
Hands-on experience with microcontroller-based system design and programming (e.g., ARM Cortex, AVR, PIC).
