Wentworth James Group has engaged with a key client a Tier 1 Automotive Manufacturer based in South Wales who are currently hiring for both their hardware & software teams. We have an opportunity for an Electronics Design Engineer to join a fantastic business and leading manufacturer.
The position will involve designing and developing hardware in the fields of automotive diagnostics and electric vehicles to support our position as one of the leading companies in this sector.
Responsibilities will include:
* Creating and documenting design requirements
* Schematic capture and PCB layout of new designs
* Creating manufacturing files
* Versioning and storing designs in accordance with company management systems
* Creating test plans, implementing and documenting results
* Support colleagues with advice and sharing of knowledge
Knowledge and Experience:
* Digital and analogue circuit design
* Working within design rules for insulation, creepage and clearance
* Ability to test and debug own designs
* Schematic capture and PCB layout in Altium Designer
* Educated to Degree Level
* The competency to work on Dangerous Voltage Systems(Apply online only)V)
* To design and test HV systems
* Project management of technical aspects from concept to production
Experience of the following would be advantageous:
* Power supply design
* Rectifier and inverter design
* Hazardous voltage/electric vehicle design
* Firmware development in the C language (dsPIC, PIC32,NXP Power Architecture)
* Working with safety standards for hardware development (IEC (phone number removed)
* Use of 3D CAD system (eg DesignSpark) to produce simple mechanical visualisations
* Use of basic workshop equipment to make prototype enclosures
* Soldering and assembly skills.
