Electronics Test & Automation Team Leader | Cambridge | £65,000 - £78,000

The Role

A growing technology business is looking for an experienced Electronics Test & Automation Team Leader to lead a team responsible for the verification, characterisation, automation and investigation of complex electronic products and subsystems.

This is a hands-on technical leadership position, combining team management with practical engineering involvement. You will lead a team of RF and Baseband Test Engineers, helping to develop robust verification strategies, improve test coverage and introduce greater levels of automation across the product development lifecycle.

Day-to-Day

Your role will involve a mixture of technical leadership, hands-on engineering and team management. You could be:

+Leading technical reviews and verification planning meetings.
+Coaching and mentoring Test and Automation Engineers.
+Reviewing verification results, test reports and project risks.
+Supporting RF and Baseband fault investigations.
+Developing and reviewing automated test solutions.
+Working with development teams to improve test coverage.
+Collaborating with manufacturing and quality teams on product readiness.

The role is primarily office-based in Cambridge, with occasional UK travel for training, testing and external test facilities. A full UK driving licence and access to a car are therefore required. Reasonable travel expenses will be covered.

About You

We're looking for an experienced electronics or RF test professional who is comfortable operating at both a technical and leadership level.

You should have:

+A degree in Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or a related discipline.
+Previous experience leading or technically managing an engineering/test team.
+Strong experience in RF and/or electronics verification.
+Experience working with wireless communication technologies
+Proven experience developing automated test solutions using Python.

Technical Experience

Ideally, you will have experience with:

+RF measurement and characterisation
+Baseband verification
+Automated test development
+Python test frameworks
+Verification and test strategy
