THE OPPORTUNITY
Oasis Resourcing is supporting an employment services organisation with a major youth employment programme. The programme supports young people aged 18–24 to build confidence, overcome barriers to work and progress into suitable, sustainable employment. Multiple Mentor opportunities are available across several UK regions.
THE ROLE
As a Mentor, you will manage a caseload of young people and provide structured one-to-one support from initial referral through pre-employment preparation, job placement and in-work support. You will build trusted relationships, identify barriers, agree practical action plans and help participants develop the confidence, skills and work-readiness needed to move into and sustain employment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
* Build rapport with young people and provide structured one-to-one mentoring that encourages engagement, motivation and accountability.
* Manage a participant caseload from referral through pre-employment support, placement, in-work support and progression planning.
* Complete initial assessments, identify barriers, agree SMART action plans and regularly review progress towards employment.
* Provide practical work-readiness and job-search support, including CV development, interview preparation, sector exploration and soft-skills development.
• Work with employer engagement colleagues to match participants to suitable employment opportunities and support recruitment, onboarding and day-one preparation.
• Provide ongoing in-work support, including regular check-ins, workplace coaching and review of support or reasonable-adjustment needs.
• Re-engage participants who fall out of work and help them progress back into employment, education or training.
• Maintain accurate and timely case records, action plans, contact notes and outcome evidence in line with contractual and quality requirements.
• Work collaboratively with Jobcentre Plus, employers, training providers and local partners to strengthen participant support and employment outcomes.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
* Experience providing one-to-one mentoring, coaching or employment support to young people or participants facing barriers to work.
* Experience in employability, welfare-to-work, youth employment, skills, education, training or a similar target-driven environment.
* Ability to build trust, motivate participants, challenge appropriately and maintain engagement across face-to-face, telephone and digital contact.
* Good understanding of action planning, barrier removal, work-readiness, job matching, in-work support and sustained employment outcomes.
• Ability to manage a caseload, prioritise activity, meet deadlines and work to contract targets, quality standards and compliance requirements.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with participants, employers and wider stakeholders.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, data protection, equality and diversity, health and safety and participant consent requirements.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, digital communication tools and case-management systems.
• Willingness to work from an assigned office location and travel regularly across the local area. No homeworking is available due to the nature of the role.
• Desirable: knowledge of the local labour market, employer recruitment needs and routes into employment, apprenticeships, education and training.
* Salary of £32,000 in Lincolnshire and the Buckinghamshire / South Midlands / Leicester / Rutland region.
* Salary of £34,000 in South West London.
* Regular local travel is required; the role is office/site based with no homeworking Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
