Employment Solicitor

Leeds | 1+ Year PQE 

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Employment Solicitor to join the highly regarded Employment team of a well-established and successful commercial law firm in Leeds.

Our client has one of the larger Employment teams in the Leeds legal market and is looking to add another solicitor as part of its continued growth. You’ll be joining a friendly, collaborative department with a strong Partner presence, providing an excellent environment in which to develop your employment law expertise and progress your career.

The Role

Working with a varied client base that includes businesses, HR professionals and individuals across sectors such as professional services, retail, technology, hospitality and manufacturing, you will handle a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters.

Your work will include:

  Advising employers and employees on a wide range of employment law matters

  
  


• 
  

  Managing Employment Tribunal claims and associated litigation

  
  


• 
  

  Drafting and negotiating settlement agreements

  
  


• 
  

  Advising on disciplinary, grievance, redundancy and other workplace issues

  
  


• 
  

  Drafting employment contracts, directors’ service agreements and employee handbooks

  
  


• 
  

  Providing employment law support on corporate transactions

  
  


• 
  

  Advising on TUPE and related employment considerations

  
  


• 
  

  Developing strong, long-term relationships with clients

  
  


• 
  

  Participating in seminars, networking and business development activities

  
  

There may also be opportunities to undertake your own advocacy where appropriate.

About You

We are looking for a qualified Solicitor with at least 1 year’s relevant employment law experience who is keen to continue developing within a busy and supportive team.

You should be comfortable dealing directly with clients and able to provide practical, commercially focused advice. Experience of Employment Tribunal litigation and procedure would be particularly advantageous.

You will ideally be someone who enjoys taking responsibility for their own matters whilst also working collaboratively as part of a larger team. Strong communication, organisation and attention to detail will be important, along with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
