Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Thursday (40 hours/week)
About the Role
A leading UK general aviation engine maintenance facility, located near Reading in Berkshire, is seeking an experienced Engine Mechanic / Build Engineer to join their growing team. Opportunities to support dyno testing and ongoing professional development are included, and full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
  • Overhaul, repair, and assemble 4- and 6-cylinder piston engines (“boxer configuration”) for both general aviation and automotive applications
  • Support dyno engine testing and associated performance assessments
  • Ensure all work and documentation complies with internal procedures, MOE, and EASA Part 145 aviation regulations
  • Complete, accurate record-keeping and use of digital documentation systems (training on Aerotrac provided)
  • Work to tight deadlines and uphold high safety standards
  • Carry out additional workshop or ad hoc duties as required
About You
  • Essential: Previous experience working on piston engines (aviation or automotive)
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to safety-critical processes
  • Proactive, conscientious, and able to work well both independently and within a small, close-knit team
  • Good communication skills and computer literacy
  • Willingness to carry out ad hoc duties as required and to learn digital systems
  • Comfortable working to regulatory and quality deadlines
