Engineer - Fire & Security

Are you an experienced Fire and Security Systems Engineer looking to join a growing and dynamic team? We are currently seeking a dedicated Mobile Fire and Security Systems Engineer to support our expanding client base across the UK. This is a hands-on role involving the installation, maintenance, and servicing of a wide range of fire detection and security systems across commercial, industrial, and residential sites.

Main Responsibilities

• Install, service, and maintain fire alarm systems (conventional and addressable)

• Install and maintain intruder alarm systems

• Work with both IP and analogue CCTV systems

• Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs

• Ensure all work complies with health and safety legislation and industry standards (BS 5839, BS 7671)

• Accurately complete all job documentation and service reports

• Participate in an on-call rota for emergency call-outs

• Maintain clear, professional communication with clients and provide excellent customer service

• Attend regular training to stay current with new technologies and standards

• Care for and maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicle

Person Requirements

Essential:

• Proven experience in a similar role within the fire and security industry

• Strong knowledge of fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control systems

• Understanding of British Standards (BS 5839, BS 5266)

• Full UK driving licence

• Ability to travel and work independently across various locations

• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

• Legal right to work in the UK

• Willingness to undergo a background check

Desirable:

• Industry certifications (FIA, City & Guilds, ECS/CSCS card)

• Familiarity with equipment from Eaton, Texecom, Hikvision, Paxton, Kentec

• Experience working to NSI or BAFE standards

• Willingness to travel with occasional overnight stays for project requirements
