Your role and responsibilities
Join us and play a key role in ensuring new highways and infrastructure are delivered to the highest standards across Suffolk. Working as part of a small, supportive team, you will inspect and oversee highway and drainage works associated with Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) and other developments, helping to ensure roads, sustainable drainage systems and highway assets are constructed in line with national standards and local specifications for future adoption. You will carry out site inspections, coordinate testing and compliance checks, provide recommendations on highway adoptions, and work closely with developers, contractors and technical specialists to resolve issues when standards are not met. This is a varied and rewarding role that combines technical expertise, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement, including representing the County Council at external meetings, promoting safe working practices and helping to ensure new infrastructure is delivered safely, efficiently and for the benefit of Suffolk's communities.
