We are now recruiting for a Radiological Consequences Analyst to join our Radiological Consequences team, which performs radiological consequences analysis (RCA) of the RR-SMR design during faulted and accident conditions to substantiate the safety of the power station.
As a radiological consequences analyst, you will model radioactive releases during accident scenarios to define radiological exposure to workers and members of the public.
Activities include:
The RCA team uses methodologies ranging from Excel-based calculations to Python-based solvers. Atmospheric dispersion is modelled using ADMS and PACE software.
Due to the safety-critical nature of the modelling we undertake, excellent quality-management processes including code verification and validation are essential. All analysts have a role in ensuring quality outputs through rigorous process adherence and supporting continuous improvement of methods and tools.
Hybrid working with one of the following locations as your primary site: Derby, Manchester or Warrington
The salary band for this will be between £40,000–£52,500 dependent on the skills, values, and knowledge you bring. There may be some flexibility with the starting salary in exceptional cases, and, in due course, there is the potential for you to develop the role further.
