The Company

A rapidly growing organisation operating a brand new, state‑of‑the‑art Distribution Centre in Doncaster. Continued investment in infrastructure, engineering capability and site development has created an opportunity for an experienced Engineering and Facilities Manager to join the team. The site operates at pace and requires strong leadership to ensure all building infrastructure, plant and services are maintained safely, compliantly and to the highest operational standards.

This role sits within the wider Facilities function and reports into the Automation and Facilities leadership team. You will take a hands‑on approach to coaching your team, driving performance on the floor and maintaining high standards across all building and engineering assets. The environment suits someone who thrives in a fast‑moving operation and can balance safety, cost control, operational priorities and long‑term asset reliability while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, motivate and develop the Engineering and Facilities team, ensuring high performance, engagement and accountability
Oversee planned preventative and reactive maintenance through ARMS, ensuring building infrastructure, plant and services operate reliably
Ensure all maintenance activities meet statutory requirements including PUWER, SSOW and COSHH
Promote a strong safety culture across the team, ensuring safe systems of work are followed at all times
Manage third party contractors, ensuring compliance with RAMS, SLAs and site safety standards
Hold suppliers accountable for performance, delivery and compliance Allocate resources effectively, prioritising maintenance tasks to minimise disruption and downtime
Manage maintenance spend including labour, spares and contractor costs, ensuring alignment with agreed budgets Identify recurring issues and implement root cause solutions to improve asset reliability
Drive continuous improvement across maintenance standards, processes and asset care
Maintain accurate records within ARMS including maintenance history, compliance documentation and asset data Support long term asset reliability planning and operational readiness across the site
About You

Strong engineering background with proven experience leading maintenance or facilities teams in a complex operational environment
Recognised Engineering qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Maintenance at NVQ Level 3, HNC or HND
Experience leading engineering or facilities teams with responsibility for building infrastructure, plant and services
Strong knowledge of statutory compliance including PUWER, SSOW and COSHH
Experience using CMMS systems such as ARMS or equivalent Proven ability to manage contractors, budgets and maintenance delivery
Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to prioritise workload and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment IOSH Managing Safety or equivalent desirable
