Engineering Buyer

Buyer required for an engineering supplier based in Burton On Trent. An organised and efficient Material Controller/Buyer with excellent communication skills who can confidently liaise with both suppliers, internal departments and our Joint Venture. Part of a small team procuring goods for customers including a blue chip company.

• General Purchasing Responsibilities
• Sourcing product from Suppliers
• Placing Purchase Orders with Suppliers
• Reviewing Spend Profiles with Suppliers
• Looking into cost down initiatives
• Reviewing and updating MRP levels within ProAlpha (ERP System)
• Running the MRP programme within ProAlpha in order to place Purchase orders off the back of recommendations
• Liaising internally with Sales Department Employees to advise the status of goods arriving into the company. Identifying items which are at risk of missing customer delivery dates
• Liasing with the Finance Department to resolve account queries, invoice queries etc
• Expediting Purchase Orders with Suppliers and attempting to improve delivery dates to meet customers expectations
• Identify and implement improvements to the overall Purchasing function

• Previous experience within a similar role
• Excellent communications skills
• Strong Excel Skills
• Organisation, individual initiative, flexibility, and time management

• Salary dependent on experience likely Circa £28k-£30k
