Our client is a leading provider of life safety systems, specialising in the design and implementation of Fire Alarm systems. They are currently seeking a seeking an experienced Engineering Design Lead to manage a team of design engineers delivering fire alarm systems at a high-profile nuclear site in the South West. In this pivotal role, the successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring compliance with British, European, and nuclear standards and regulations, while overseeing the design, development, and installation of large-scale fire detection systems. The successful candidate will need to manage all relevant aspects of the project ensuring tasks and objectives are completed on time to cost and quality.Responsibilities:Lead and manage a small team of design engineers delivering fire alarm systems at a high-profile nuclear site.Review client building packages and prepare project documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.Ensure quality verification and efficient project document management.Provide regular reports to the Deputy Project Director on project progress.Develop and deliver comprehensive operation and maintenance manuals for the systems.Collaborate with internal teams to understand project specifications and produce high-quality, easy-to-understand documentation.Support the development of an efficient CAD process across all design engineers.Manage documentation, including revision control and file storage procedures.Verify documentation and designs completed by engineers with a lower SQEP level in line with the designer capability statement.Requirements:Chartered Electrical Engineer (desirable)Member of IET/ IEE or equivalent (desirable)Degree/HND (essential)Knowledge and experience working with and designing to BS5839 Part 1 (essential)Experience working in a similar electrical engineering environment in the nuclear industry and/or major construction projects (essential)Competent in generating technical documentation including specifications/reports and drawings etc. (essential)Experience in using Auto CAD / Navisworks.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Proven experience in managing teams and people.Effective communication and collaboration abilities in remote working environments.Our Client offers a flexible remote working arrangement, partnered with a supportive and inclusive culture and an excellent benefits package:Bonus: Performance based on project and personal targets.Holiday: 23 days plus bank holidays rising to 25 days plus bank holidaysPension: salary sacrifice scheme at 5% employer 5% employeeLife Assurance: Private medical: Health Cash Plan: Critical Illness InsuranceThis exciting opportunity offers candidates access to exceptional investment in training, learning and development, ensuring significant professional growth with a client who truly values its employees.If you are a motivated Engineering Design Lead looking to contribute to the development and growth of the team make a significant impact in the nuclear industry, please click and apply and we will come back to you within 24hrs.Our client is an equal opportunity employer, committed to fostering diversity and inclusion.
