We are seeking an experienced Engineering Development Team Lead to join a growing technology-focused organisation developing advanced products and manufacturing solutions.
This is a hands-on leadership role combining technical engineering expertise with team management responsibility. You'll lead a small team of multidisciplinary engineers responsible for developing automated test equipment, production support solutions, and engineering tools that enable the successful introduction of new products into manufacture.
You'll play a key role in shaping technical direction, improving engineering processes, mentoring engineers, and ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard.
What You'll Be Doing
* Leading, coaching and developing a team of engineers to achieve both technical and business objectives.
* Managing workload planning, resource allocation and project priorities across multiple concurrent activities.
* Driving the development of automated test systems, fixtures and associated electronics.
* Supporting the design, development and integration of embedded software and PC-based applications.
* Collaborating with design, manufacturing and software teams to improve product quality, testability and production efficiency.
* Monitoring project progress, identifying risks and ensuring delivery milestones are achieved.
* Producing technical documentation, specifications and development records.
* Supporting troubleshooting, root-cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Championing engineering best practice, innovation and knowledge sharing within the team.
What We're Looking For
You'll be a technically capable engineering leader who enjoys balancing hands-on development work with people leadership and project coordination.
Essential Experience
* Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams within a product development or manufacturing environment.
* Strong understanding of electronics and hardware systems.
* Experience developing or supporting automated test equipment, production tooling or engineering systems.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability.
Technical Background
Experience in two or more of the following areas would be highly beneficial:
* Electronic circuit design and analysis
* Embedded software development
* C, C++ or C#
* Automated test systems
* Production engineering
* Linux-based development environments
* Hardware and software integration
Qualifications
* Degree qualified in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
