Skills and Education Required
Technical bias such as Honours, HNC/HND leaning towards Mechanical Engineering. Educational bias aligned towards Mathematics. Strong written and verbal communication.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

Interrogation of 2D and 3D drawing sets to compile a cost estimate. Compile estimates using parametric or historical data with reasoned assumptions where minimum engineering data is available. Compile estimates using empirical or comparative data with reasoned assumptions where historical data is available. Present estimates, clearly highlighting any assumptions, to others that may not be familiar with the data and issues so that they are readily understood. Analyse actual performance against estimated performance to benchmark the estimate standards and assumptions. Provide an estimating service to the Projects and Functions for engineering change and cost reduction opportunities. Systematic and uniform approach to complete tasks in timely manner Ability to communicate written and orally both internally within the business and externally with customers.
Financial Duties in the Role
Capable of handling large volumes of data and consolidating and reporting this data effectively through the utilisation of strong IT skills. Provide support to Business Functions on all matters having a potential financial impact to the business. Ensure the overall integrity of financial reporting information for business performance. Assist with the financial accounting month-end closure process. Raise issues of concern/significant importance to Senior Finance staff to seek guidance/advice. Support decision making processes and to challenge performance of contacts where necessary by analysing key issues and trends, risks, and opportunities. Gain an understanding of the commercial impacts of business decisions on our contracts with our customers and suppliers.
